Wendy Grounds trained as a diagnostic radiographer at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa. After college, Wendy served with a Baptist Youth organization on a year of mission work around Southern Africa. She then returned to the medical field and worked for 12 years at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital in Cape Town. She was serving as a Chief Radiographer before immigrating to the USA in 2000. When she started teaching Timothy Ministry classes at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in 2005 Wendy discovered her love for teaching. In 2008 she began teaching Science classes at Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, her classes have included Life Science, General Science, Biology and Latin 1a. Wendy and her husband Justin have been married for 21 years and have two children Jaron and Samantha. They attend Grace Community Church in Marietta. Wendy believes that a great teacher does not just have a passion for the activity of teaching or for their subject matter but a humility in knowing we serve a purpose larger than ourselves in inspiring others to discover their potential.
