Madeleine Meyer developed a love for history early on, always loving the grand story of humanity. In 2019, she graduated magna cum laude from Berry College with a B.A. in History. She recently spent the past two years in Scotland completing a masters degree in Theology and the Arts at the University of St. Andrews. Throughout her coursework, she studied how the arts may communicate theological truths, and the role of art in the life of faith; Her final thesis addressed the theological foundations of Vincent van Gogh’s art and how it may provide a fresh perspective on Christ to theologians. While in Scotland, she spoke and published on young adult literature and presented her work on Van Gogh at Hutchmoot UK, an arts and faith conference run by the Rabbit Room. Madeleine will be based in Atlanta for the next few years as she pursues her studies in the field of Christian history.
Ms. Meyer’s worldview is grounded in historic Christian doctrine and is the foundation for all other pursuits. She is passionate about helping young people know the ins and outs of the Christian faith and helping them understand that Christ forms the ground of their identity. By equipping them with the tools to engage in loving dialogue about faith in ecumenical and inter-religious spaces, she hopes that "Christ [will play] in 10,000 places," as Gerard Manley Hopkins writes he does!
