Lee Knippenberg is an Atlanta native with 21 years of teaching experience at the university level.
After graduating from Oglethorpe University with a BA in English literature, Lee worked in Advertising and PR as a "day job" while pursuing her acting career in theatres around Atlanta. After earning an MFA in performance and theatre history from UGA, she signed on with Oglethorpe University and began building their theatre program. In this capacity, she has directed more than 60 shows and taught courses in Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Acting, Shakespearean Performance, and Theatre History from the Ancient Greeks to Chekhov. Additional training includes the Summer Training Conservatory at the American Conservatory Theatre (San Francisco) and further history studies at the Universities of Parma and London.
Lee currently teaches acting and theatre history part time at Oglethorpe, runs the drama ministry at Oak Grove UMC, and works with husband, Joe, to oversee the home schooling of two teenagers.
