Valerie Maloof has taught English primarily at the middle school level, ESOL from elementary to adults, and ESOL endorsement courses to teachers at UGA and Gwinnett County Schools. She graduated from Furman University with a BA in English and holds both a MEd in English and a PhD in Language Education from UGA. Her research focused on the intersections of language, identity and culture.
Her educational research and faith greatly influence her perspective on how culture shapes faith and family, and she is an avid proponent of limiting technology and reading often and always. Valerie has also served on the boards at Heritage Preparatory and St. Pius X Catholic High School, working primarily on ensuring mission effectiveness.
Valerie and her husband, Steve, attend Christ the King, and have four adult children, all of whom she homeschooled for a few years (the oldest three attended a few classes at Metro Academic Studies).
