Melissa Liipfert graduated with a Bachelor’s in English with a concentration on Literature from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville in 2004. Reading and writing have been an important part of her career path. Her first professional writing experience was as an intern for an Atlanta magazine at 18 years old. After college, Melissa worked in advertising in the Atlanta area. In 2017, Melissa and her husband decided to homeschool their children, and Melissa found her true calling. Teaching.

Since 2017, Melissa has taught as a registered instructor online, at home, and through co-op communities. In addition to her IEW training, she is a certified TESOL/TEFL/EYL teacher, content and copywriter, and a homeschool mom. When her nose is not stuck in a book, she enjoys teaching others how to enjoy these things, too. As a teacher, Melissa appreciates seeing students form their own thoughts and ideas and communicating them to others expressively and intelligently. Melissa and her family are members of The Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta.
