This year the drama performance class will perform a full stage show towards the end of spring semester. Please note that due to circumstances involving the pandemic, this course description has changed.
All students who enroll in the class will receive a speaking role or, in the case of the musical, a singing, speaking and/or dancing part, depending on their desire. The class is currently rehearsing a Shakespeare showcase which will include some musical performances. The emphasis of the course is on character development and acting technique. The course will also emphasis the responsibility of all artists to maintain a respect for Biblical truth when participating or supporting the arts in our culture. Extended Wednesday rehearsals (ending at 5:30) are common. Production fees include the majority of the costume and scripts. Plays selection may vary based on enrollment in each semester. Students joining the class in the spring will still receive a small speaking role and have an opportunity to audition for a musical number.
Plays being considered for 2020-2021 are:
Shakespeare Showcase, Much Ado about a Midsummer Shrew (Ain't Love Tricky?!)
Cost: $375 per production, due at beginning of each semester (includes class tuition)
Sibling production discount: 1/2 for siblings of full-pay students
Production fee (same for all students): $50 per production (includes script and the majority of the costume. Some personal items may be required.)
