In this course students will learn the basics of filmmaking. We will focus on composition, camera movement, editing, and time/space manipulation. We will study certain techniques and make brief films in response. We will also learn the basics of story creation and script writing. The goal is that upon completion of the course students will have the ability to make a short film eligible for entry in film competitions.
DSLR and basic knowledge of its functions (alternative iphone/ipad/go pro)
- Premier editing software (alternative Windows Movie Maker/iMovie/Gopro Studio)
- A fast computer that can edit movies over 1 minute (required but can be a desktop)
- Thumb drives or the ability to transmit large files using YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox, Google Drive or any other alternatives.
