Basics of Engineering
This course will teach students the theoretical foundation of engineering while keeping them engaged through practical applications. The course will cover topics such as understanding the engineering field as a whole, basic engineering math and science for problem solving, the engineering design process, and idea communication skills (through sketches, reports, and presentations). The progression from simple to complex projects will help students develop critical thinking using problem-solving techniques learned in class, as well as team-building activities. This class requires students to have a computer capable of running basic design software such as Fusion 360 or Onshape. No textbook required; instructor will provide all materials.
