Earth Science is a multidisciplinary course that explores the dynamic systems of our planet, our solar system, and Earth’s place in the universe. Students investigate Earth’s structure, surface processes, oceans, atmosphere, climate, and interactions with living systems, as well as the Sun, Moon, planets, and other objects in our solar system.

Topics include geology, plate tectonics, weather and climate, the rock cycle, Earth’s resources, natural hazards, astronomy and solar system science, and the relationships between Earth, the Sun, and the Moon. Students examine how gravitational forces, energy transfer, and cyclical patterns influence both Earth systems and celestial motion.

The course emphasizes scientific inquiry, data analysis, and real world applications. Students engage in hands on labs, modeling, observation, and problem solving activities that build critical thinking and scientific literacy. Connections are made between Earth systems, space science, and current environmental issues, helping students understand how Earth functions as part of a larger cosmic system.

Designed for students in grades 7–10, this course supports a wide range of learners while building skills in reading scientific texts, interpreting graphs and maps, writing evidence based explanations, and collaborating effectively. By the end of the course, students will have a strong foundation in Earth and space science concepts and be well prepared for future science coursework.
