Art History
2024/25 Academic Art History Class (credited class) Class time: Wednesday 12:45pm-2:15pm Students will love Art History by learning the classical history in chronological order where art started and how it affects art today. Students will go back in time to remember architecture of churches, Important paintings and the old master artists who affected us throughout time. 1st semester students learn about Ancient Greece’s contribution, the artists, times, dates. We will then explore Medieval Art - Early Christian Art, artists of the Renaissance, Baroque, Ricoco, Egyptian art movements and more. 2nd semester covers Neoclassical Art, Romanticism, Realism which opened the path for Impressionists and Post Impressionists such as Monet, Manet, Van Gogh, Degas, and John S. Sargent with important times and dates. Students are graded at the end of each semester with a test that cover periods of art and artists, important dates and famous works of art. Also students write a 300 word biological paper of favorite artist from each semester.
