This dynamic class is perfect for seventh or eighth grade students who have already completed a grammar/composition at MAS. Students will review and build upon their grammar knowledge. Students will learn how to conduct research, craft a thesis, create an outline, and write an essay. Students are actively engaged in the writing process and are supported at every step. Each student receives personal feedback on his/her papers so he/she can learn and grow as a writer. This course blends well with Literature for the Middle School Student to create a complete language arts block. Students should plan on spending 4 - 5 hours a week on homework for this course.
