Life Science
This middle school level biology class provides a detailed introduction to the methods, concepts, and vocabulary of general biology. Topics include classification, genetics, cell biology, cellular reproduction, an overview of the five kingdoms of living things, and anatomy. Labs include extensive microscope work, dissections, and model work. Students will learn how to write a lab report as well as how to work with science equipment. During class we will take notes in an interactive notebook and complete labs. Please note this class begins at 10:35, and students must be on time as we have a lot to cover! Students will have 4 - 6 hours of homework a week. This class is ideal for hard-working, curious middle school students who want to learn more about this amazing world God has given us. Students will need a working printer at home, a three-hole punch, and binder. At school students should always have pencils, colored pencils, a pair of scissors, a glue stick along with their binder and textbook.
