Hola! In Spanish 1A we establish a solid foundation of this foreign language in a highly interactive and enjoyable weekly classroom setting. We spend two weeks on each textbook lesson focusing on building vocabulary, conjugating verbs, and comprehending grammar concepts, while enhancing basic conversation skills through speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish. In addition to the textbook activities, we also complete the following monthly projects: 1) memorize a Bible verse together in Spanish, 2) learn commonly used words from the vocabulary book, 3) make a theme-based mini booklet to practice vocabulary and verb usage, and 4) study a Spanish-speaking country and its culture. Middle school is the ideal age to learn Spanish, the most widely used foreign language in the United States. Two years of this middle school Spanish class is equivalent to one year of high school Spanish.
