This dynamic class is perfect for seventh or eighth grade students who have already completed a grammar/composition at MAS. Students will review and build upon their grammar knowledge. Students will learn how to conduct research, craft a thesis, create an outline, and write an essay. Students are actively engaged in the writing process and are supported at every step. Each student receives personal feedback on his papers so he can learn and grow as a writer. This course blends well with Literature for the Middle School Student to create a complete language arts block. Students should plan on spending 4 - 5 hours a week on homework for this course.  Students who were enrolled in Grammar/Comp II for the 2022 - 2023 should enroll this course; it is all new content.

Requirements/Expectations for entry:

  • Students are expected to know how to type or be enrolled in a course to learn.
