Grade: High School (9th through 12th)

This World History course will focus on the story of mankind from creation to the present.  A comparison and contrast between world views regarding world history will feature the contrast between secular humanists' view of world history (presented in the textbook) and a Christian view of world history (presented by the instructor).  Students will study ancient civilizations through the Greeks to the Roman Empire.  Then we will survey the histories of India, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Next we will analyze the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Reformation, upon which modern history is founded.  Finally, we will examine modern history, focusing on modern revolutions, ideology, imperialism, and "globalization".  Students are encouraged to observe God's providence as we consider the forces, ideas, people, and movements that have shaped and continue to influence our modern world.

Class time will be comprised of lectures, group discussions, and presentations to prepare students for advanced-level college classes.
