DoE Course # 23.03100
Instructor: Angie Nasrallah
Grades: 9 - 12
Do you love to write? Do you like writing, but don't know where to begin to explore your interest and how to improve? Are you a closet poet? Have you always wanted to start your own blog? Do you enjoy playing with language? Do you like to tell stories? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should take this course!
Writer's Workshop is a class where you can explore, practice, and hone your skill to become the writer you want to be. In this class, we will observe successful writers and writing styles. We'll identify and imitate highly effective sentences and well-placed words. We'll experiment with crafting various forms of fiction and nonfiction. And, most importantly, we will just write!
Every successful writer has an editor or two. In this class, we will learn how to be our own best critic and how to be an editor for others. At the conclusion of this course, you will have created a portfolio of your best works to take to your next adventure.
