Students learn realistic drawing principles that were once "rules" in art but, today I believe they are "Tools."

By understanding  how, what, why, when and where of each principle, students start to develop the art tools needed to have their own voice in art. The Human figure contains all the drawing problems an artist will encounter regardless of the artistic style and medium a student uses.  Art works from the old masters will be used to understand what the masters taught the art world and how to apply it today.

We will be starting with a series of realistic drawing exercises that will teach students how to see on a higher level by drawing accurate proportions using our TouchPoint Drawing Method. This method is a specifically designed system for developing the artistic eye and hand focusing on proportion and accuracy. The elements will be covered which includes: contrast, shape, value, texture, and line.

Our exercises are building blocks for skills that prepare students for future career opportunities in design, graphic arts, and building a portfolio.

All students are welcome to participate in MAS annual juried art show in the spring. Winners compete in regional and possibility of state wide competition.
