This high-energy, multisensory class will examine various aspects of culture through material comprehensible to

students as well as a variety of artistic media.

Optional Spanish club meetings will be held approximately one Saturday per month.

This course is designed to be completed over five days each week: one day of class attendance and participation and four separate days of homework. Homework will require at least 30 minutes per day, four days per week. Assignments include watching and practicing with several online resources, writing original compositions, reading, completing worksheets, and producing projects implementing art materials and technology.

Those who complete three semesters of Spanish with an A average and demonstrate appreciation for Spanish language and culture by fulfilling tasks set forth in the course syllabus are invited to join the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica, the national honor society of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.

Summer homework preparation for Spanish II consists of viewing entertaining Spanish videos.

Books: Two to four novellas for learners of Spanish will be read. Titles will be determined according to students’ progress as well as current events related to themes of novellas. This course does not use a textbook, but instruction includes grammar and vocabulary.
