Spanish 1B for Metro middle school students will build upon the basic foundation developed in Spanish 1A (which is a pre-requisite for this class). We will continue in the Bob Jones Spanish curriculum, covering a lesson every two weeks. This Spanish 1B course will dig deeper into teaching the fundamentals of the language including vocabulary, verb conjugation (present tense), grammar, reading, listening comprehension, writing, pronunciation, and basic conversation.  In addition to the textbook, we will also complete the following projects each month: 1) memorize a Bible verse in Spanish, 2) learn conversational vocabulary words from the vocabulary book, 3) make a theme-based mini booklet to practice Spanish verb usage, and 4) study a Spanish-speaking country and its culture. Middle school is the ideal age to learn Spanish, which is the most widely used foreign language in the United States. Note: Two years of Metro middle school Spanish is equivalent to one year of high school Spanish.
